A Brief Introduction
Hi there! I’m Nina, and this is yet another blog about product management. There’s no shortage of resources out there around PM, but I have found while mentoring folks looking to get started in product that the same questions come up again and again. I’ll be sharing my perspective on top of mind product-y things in straightforward, no-nonsense language in my own cozy corner of the internet.
I am currently a Senior Product Manager at Zendesk working on platform business logic and automation. I previously worked in Trust and Safety at Facebook improving investigative and review tools, at a travel tech startup, and on a mobile app for a benefits broker. Prior to product, I got my degree in Scotland, worked in account management and client services and I also had a fleeting moment working on indie films. I decided to teach myself to code, went all-in on the programming bootcamp Hackbright Academy, and never looked back. I’m passionate about working to help underrepresented people enter tech; I volunteer as a mentor with Built By Girls, and am always looking for other opportunities to help.
I hail from both Melbourne, Australia and the San Francisco Bay Area but have settled in Portland, Oregon with my two beautiful kiddos and husband. When I’m not busy PM-ing, I like to hike and camp, snowboard, read both fiction and non-fiction (good book recs always welcome!), and go on the occasional Netflix binge.
Please let me know if there are any topics you’d like to see covered. I have many ideas, but limited time, and I want to make my posts useful to as many people as I can. I’m always open to feedback; let me know if you can help me learn, too!
